Questions we actually get.
The stuff clients usually ask before they hire us. If yours isn't here, just call.
Kitchens, bathrooms, interior renovations, flooring, painting, drywall, tile, trim, doors, carpentry, deck repair, and handyman work. On the commercial side: hotels, universities, military bases, office buildings, and breweries. If it's inside a building, we probably do it.
We serve all of Northern Virginia: Burke, Fairfax, Springfield, Alexandria, Arlington, McLean, Vienna, Reston, Herndon, and more. Plus Washington DC and Maryland communities including Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Silver Spring, Rockville, Potomac, and College Park. Our commercial division serves from DC to Ocean City, MD.
Yes. Residential makes up the majority of our work: homeowners remodeling kitchens, bathrooms, and living spaces. We also do commercial interior remodeling for hotels, universities, military facilities, office buildings, and breweries from DC to Ocean City.
Yes. Not every project is a full renovation. We handle painting, drywall patches, trim, doors, deck repair, and general handyman work. If it needs fixing or updating, reach out and we'll let you know if it's a fit.
Absolutely. We work with property managers, real estate investors, and landlords on unit turns, punch lists, inspection repairs, and renovation projects. If you manage multiple properties, we can discuss a working relationship that makes scheduling and pricing predictable.
We respond to every inquiry within one business day. Most of the time it's faster. If you fill out the contact form or call, you'll hear from us.
Yes. We provide free estimates for all projects. We'll visit the site, discuss the scope of work, and provide a detailed, line-by-line estimate so you know exactly what you're paying for.
Kitchen remodels in Northern Virginia typically range from $15,000 to $75,000+ depending on scope, materials, and layout changes. We provide detailed, line-by-line estimates so you know exactly what you're paying for before work begins.
Bathroom renovations in Northern Virginia range from $5,000 for cosmetic updates to $50,000+ for a full master suite renovation. It depends on scope, fixtures, and tile selection. We walk through every line item with you before work begins.
Every project is different. Cost depends on the scope of work, material selections, existing conditions, layout changes, and whether permits or structural work are involved. A cosmetic refresh is very different from a gut renovation. We break everything down line by line so there are no surprises.
We can give you a general range based on a phone conversation, but accurate pricing requires seeing the space. Every home is different, and what's behind the walls matters. The site visit is free and there's no obligation.
We'll get back to you within one business day to discuss your project. If it's a good fit, we schedule a free site visit. After that, you'll receive a detailed estimate with a clear scope of work, timeline, and pricing. No pressure, no surprises.
You'll have a direct line to the people running your project. We're a small, family-owned company, not a call center. You'll know who's managing your job and how to reach them.
Our crew handles the work directly. When we bring in specialists — like for certain electrical or plumbing work — we manage them like our own. Same standards, same accountability.
It depends on scope: a bathroom renovation typically takes 2–4 weeks, a kitchen remodel 4–8 weeks, and a full interior remodel 6–12 weeks. We provide a detailed timeline with your estimate and keep you updated throughout the project.
Yes, as long as the materials are suitable for the job and available on time. We're happy to install owner-supplied materials. Just know that delays in material delivery can affect the project timeline, and we can't warranty materials we didn't supply.
Yes. We work with property managers, investors, and homeowners on punch lists, inspection repair lists, and pre-sale fix-up lists. Send us what you have and we'll price it out.
In most cases, yes. We work with you to minimize disruption. For larger projects — especially full kitchen or bathroom guts — we'll let you know upfront if there will be periods without running water or access to certain rooms so you can plan accordingly.
We use floor protection, dust barriers, and plastic sheeting to keep the work zone contained. We treat your home like it's ours: shoes off or covered, work areas protected, and adjacent rooms kept clean.
Yes. We clean up daily and do a thorough final cleanup at the end of every project. You shouldn't have to sweep up after your contractor.
It happens, especially in older homes. If we uncover something unexpected (water damage, outdated wiring, structural issues), we stop and discuss it with you before doing any additional work. You'll get a clear explanation and a price for the extra work before we proceed. No surprises.
Our crews typically work Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with Saturday availability when needed. We respect your schedule and your neighbors.
Chau & Gomez Construction Inc. is a licensed General Contractor in Washington, DC and is fully insured with general liability, workers' compensation, and commercial auto coverage. We serve clients throughout the region, with project eligibility depending on scope and jurisdictional requirements.
Yes. When permits are required, we handle the entire process: application, inspections, and sign-off. We know the permitting requirements across the jurisdictions we serve.
Not every project. Cosmetic work like painting, flooring replacement, and fixture swaps usually don't require permits. Work involving structural changes, plumbing, electrical, or layout modifications typically does. We'll let you know during the estimate process.
Yes, we require a deposit to secure your spot on the schedule and cover initial material costs. The amount depends on project size and is outlined clearly in the estimate before you sign anything.
Payments are tied to project milestones, not arbitrary dates. You'll know the payment schedule upfront, and each payment corresponds to a completed phase of work. The final payment is due at completion and your sign-off.
We accept checks and electronic payments including Zelle. We'll confirm payment options with you before the project starts.
Yes. We stand behind our workmanship. Specific warranty terms depend on the type of work and are outlined in your project agreement. Manufacturer warranties on materials and fixtures are separate and passed through to you.
Call us. We don't disappear after the final payment. If something isn't right, we'll come back and address it. Our reputation is built on referrals. We don't earn those by walking away from problems.
Still have a question? We'd rather hear from you than leave you guessing.

Tony, Rodrigo, and the team did a great job on our interior painting, drywall repair, and trim work. You could tell they cared about doing things the right way and not just rushing through the job. The walls came out smooth, the paint lines were clean, and the trim work really finished the space nicely. They were professional, dependable, and easy to have in our home.
